Splatters and silk

So a funny thing happened on the way to my store the other day. I ran into a snow formation that reminded me of my "Splatter Prelude" piece that I made for a compilation record (Getting Rid of the Glue) and then interpreted into my first embroidery piece that sold in Vienna last year.

#1 The original splatter. I made the splatter which was part of an even larger piece about 4 years before, but then I hated the big piece and threw it away but saved this one guy because he was always my favorite.

The embroidered piece which sold to a fan in Vienna.

The snow. I wish I could have done a mirror image thing on it so it would face the same direction as the others, but my computer won't do it for some reason, so you'll have to use your imagination.

lazy fucks....

Last week I went and visited one of my most favorite people in the world James Morrison at his studio in Greenpoint, BK.

He has an opening happening in Halifax later this month and wanted to show me his stuff before he sent it all out.

My favorite one I like to call them "My 4 Bears" (I have this one and carried all over Vienna, Berlin, London, Mallorca, NYC....everywhere...)

NEW BLACK BAGS FOR SPRING 2008!!! HOODOO!!

The wolves rule.

I like to call this one "Sea Foam Green"

I love these boys, making out, so tender....

We sell his bags at our store for $25 and he also sells his pieces at the New Museum and PRINTED MATTER.

He also found some dresses that a fashion designer who has a studio by his left out and thought I would look cute in it. So I gave it shot.

Was a good day considering I hurt my foot (the one I broke a year ago) during a hardcore yoga class the day before. But I'm feeling much better now. Please chant for my foot to not break again, I just can't handle being holed up in an apartment for a whole month gaining weight, oh god, pleeaaassseee. If we chant together then I think it will work...you ready??

NAAAAAAAMM MEEEYOOOHOOOO RENGGGG GGEEEYYY KKIIIOOOOOOO (repeat about 25 times, it's very relaxing).

Thanks dudes...
